The Walkingworld app has sailed through the Apple approval process without a hitch and can now be downloaded for iOS devices, both iPhones and iPads.
The app brings the whole library of Walkingworld walks directly to your phone or tablet. You can search for walks using a variety of methods and save them to the device for offline use.
The app functions in the exactly the same way on iPhones, iPads and on Android devices, so if you use a mixture of devices you’ll find a familiar interface each time you open it.
You can search for walks across Great Britain using place names, postcodes, the walk ID if you know it or just by hitting the ‘find a walk nearby’ button. There are over 6500 walks in England, Scotland and Wales so there’s bound to be several quite near where you are looking. You can filter the results for length, grade and a number of the most popular features.
Walkingworld subscribers can follow the walks on OS Landranger and Explorer maps, the ‘gold standard’ for walking maps in the UK. A subscription costs just £18 a year.
If you choose not to subscribe you can still use the app for free, with all the same walk guide information but just on a simpler map.
The app can be found on the App Store now.
