The Walkingworld app and website are the ideal places to promote your outdoor related organisation. Pubs, cafes, B&Bs, outdoor shops and publications all benefit from being represented, as well as walking clubs, festivals and events.

The ability to set up a directory entry is included in the standard Walkingworld subscription. That’s £15 +VAT for a whole year.

A directory entry is a brilliant and extremely low cost way to promote a location-based business or indeed a publication, website or blog that relates to a particular place. The directory entry creates a page with text information and a picture plus, if you wish, links to your email address, website and a map showing your location.

You can see a listing of ‘Walkingworld members near this walk’ on most walks. The same listing appears in the Walkingworld app. The information about the directory entries is downloaded with the walk and is available to the walker even if the device is offline.

You can set up your directory entry on the Walkingworld website. Join up, pay your subscription and then go to ‘Change my details’ at the very top of the homepage. You will find the Directory tab there and can fill in a simple form.

There’s nothing more to do, unless you want to make changes. You can always use your directory entry to promote special offers to walkers in your area, perhaps a discount off a meal or a drink. You can edit your directory entry whenever you like, so your offer can be for just a few days or weeks, or for a whole season.
